Andiamo! The hidden terrace of Marcello, the new Italian restaurant
This is a charming nugget of a restaurant that you can find close to the Mabillon market. It’s reached by a small bridge suspended between the roadway and a typical Parisian building in the Saint Germain des Prés district. After crossing you then pass under a porch to descend a few steps that lead to a verdant courtyard floored with beautiful stone slab paving. There, facing the fountain, the terrace stretches along the bay windows of this space that has the feel of an industrial loft. Welcome to Marcello, a unique place that seems to encapsulate life in Paris; an inspired cross between a Turin café and a Brooklyn bar. From breakfast to dinner, to snack and aperitivo, the Italian-accented menu winds its languid way through the moments of the day. Homemade croissant with nocciola or seeds with asiago cheese and ham, fresh pasta, grilled squid and other tramezzini, mini sandwiches made with ultra-light bread, grilled or fried arancini and antipasti. At any hour, you can let yourself be carried away by the dolce vita!
