“Black models from Géricault to Matisse” at Musée d’Orsay
Black models in the French art, their role in the history of France, the esthetic, political, social and racial problems… These are the main topics raised up at the Musée d’Orsay this spring. The exhibition “Black Model” focuses mainly on the three principal periods in the world and art history: the abolition of slavery in France (1794-1848), the era of the New Painting until the Harlem Renaissance discovered by Matisse and the beginning of the avant-garde in the 20th century. Rendezvous at Musée d’Orsay until the 21st of July to reflect on the important issues of all times.
