Faïencerie de Gien, craftsmanship and style
For nearly two hundred years, this faience factory in Gien, north-central France has constantly improved in the art and know-how of French faience. These sets of fine, tin-glazed earthenware pottery, more than fifty in all, tell their stories through a wide variety of styles and uses.
The themes are multiple and enriched by collaborations with artists such as Isabelle de Borchgrave, Estelle Rebottaro, Olivier Gagnère and Brigitte de Bazelaire, who designed the latest Indigo collection, inspired by the Rouen 32 service that has been so fondly regarded for generations. Today the Faïencerie de Gien is no longer limited to tableware.
It also celebrates the art of living with a considerable amount of panache! Thus, cups and pitchers, the undersides of dishes and trays are turned away from their original purpose to become eye-catching centrepieces of decoration.
Genuinely beautiful must-have items!
