Parc de Sceaux, to picnic under the rose clouds
Every year in the middle of April the Parc de Sceaux, located several kilometers away from Paris, turns into a huge pink cloud because of the sakuras bloom. Even though Sceaux is less known among tourists, it becomes a must see this time of the year. More than 30 Japanese cherry trees start to blossom in unison, spreading the beauty around the park. This Sunday on April 15th the local Japanese community will celebrate Hanami, a traditional custom of enjoying the transient beauty of flowers. Grab your friends or family and come here to picnic, watch a Hanami show and simply to enjoy the beauty of this pink miracle 7.
Our idea for the picnic à la parisienne: one bottle of rose wine, one baguette, olives, cut cucumbers, carrots, cherry tomatoes and a houmous. Bon appétit!
Open every day from sunrise to sunset.
