Some "Fragile Colossus" at the Jardin des Plantes
Five giant animals have invaded the Jardin des Plantes! Don't panic, these are five magnificent sculptures, made by Michel Bassompierre, one of the most representative artists of animal sculpture.
His works in marble or bronze are recognizable at first sight thanks to their round and delicate forms. His mastery of animal anatomy generates creations that appeal to the sensitivity of the viewer. Moreover, the artist is very sensitive to the species to be protected. The title of this exhibition, "Fragile Colossus", represents this humble and respectful approach of the sculptor who wishes to highlight the fragility of certain species in the face of the many threats that weigh on them.
As a visitor, you will be able to admire these imposing sculptures while discovering the intimacy of their lives.
On display until October 18, 2021. Open every day from 7:30 am to 8 pm.
