The magic of the Musical Fountains of Versailles
It’s a stirringly beautiful and timeless experience in one of the most magnificent gardens in the world. There, in the park of the Palace of Versailles, designed by Andre Le Notre, between groves trimmed and manicured to the millimetre, exquisite baroque music invites you to admire intricately sculpted fountains hurling their sheens of water into the scented air to fall sparkling into ornate basins. It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in an ageless elegance dating back to the days of the Sun King himself. Whatever your chosen route through the gardens, you’ll discover masterpieces wherever you look. Stray into secret green spaces and experience the unique spectacle that accompanied Louis XIV during strolls in the grounds of his shining palace. However, even the king may have been astonished by the Waterfall installation created by Olafur Eliasson. Towering over the Grand Canal, it’s part of the Danish-Icelandic artist’s exhibition at Versailles and is definitely not to be missed! JR.
